It's the final hours before the big race. Teams are putting the finishing touches on their cars, tuning, tweaking and running through every possible scenario they might experience in the race right up to the last possible second...and just like my colleagues up there, I've waited as long as possible to make this announcement, but at this point it's official: I unfortunately won't be racing in this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona.
I know, you're bummed, I'm bummed - but that won't stop me from enjoying the race this weekend with my family and friends, as regardless of my participation in the event, I will always remain a huge fan of this sport and this race in particular.
The silver lining here is this means I'm still available and ready to contribute my championship experience to teams for the remainder of the 2021 IMSA season - or any championship for that mater - and beyond.
In the meantime, I've been staying busy, and have some exciting things in the works that I can't wait to share with you all, and I’ve got my eyes on the future.
