Qualified P3 in Pro-Am today, in a Flying Lizard sandwich of P2, P3 & P4 in class with Andy Lee just ahead by 0.130 and Marc Miller just behind by 0.008! Amazing how tight the margins are! I’m honored to be mixing it up with these guys whom I’ve got mad respect for. And let’s not forget the mighty Johannes van Overbeek who was on Q2 duty so not in our session, but took P3 in class for that session!
Tom had a great performance despite me using up all that our Hankook Tires had for us, and will start race 2 P8 in class.
We continue to experiment with setup and search for better balance, grip and speed. Let’s see what tomorrow brings!
RACE 1 UPDATE:
Race 1 result - P8. Not quite according to plan but we sure know how to improve for tomorrow! Decent race pace but still searching & experimenting with setup and have a few tweaks for the driver change process, as Tom & I are new at doing this together. Minor hiccups that we’ll put in the rear view mirror!
Tomorrow better look out!! Race 2 will be 🔥🔥🔥.
RACE 2 UPDATE:
Another P8 for us in race 2. This time Tom started and brought the HEAT, charging through the field with some SWEET moves on the competition! He then handed off to me and I had relatively clear sailing as I pounded out laps and picked off a few cars (7). That wrapped up our Pro-Am experience together and now Tom will compete in the World Finals in the AM class today and tomorrow.
Huge thanks to the entire Flying Lizard contingent for all the hard work and attention to all of the details, in the car and out.
Looking forward to another opportunity to do this again!
