Bowmanville, Ontario (8 July 2017) – After showing strong pace early in the first practice session at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, TeamTGM was hopeful of another positive IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge outing with drivers Ted Giovanis and Guy Cosmo to follow up the squad’s fifth place finish last weekend at Watkins Glen.
Unfortunately, the No. 46 Camp Boggy Creek / JKTG Foundation Porsche Cayman GT4 suffered contact from an errant ST class entry late in the first practice session. The hard hit sent the No. 46 off track and into the barriers with the car sustaining significant damage.
Giovanis was evaluated and released from the infield medical center, but the damage to the car was enough to force TeamTGM to retire from the Canada event.
